02 — Why it's worth it
"Good enough" audio isn't good enough
An audiobook isn't a three-minute track someone hears once. It's hours with your voice right in the listener's ear. That's when everything you didn't notice during the recording suddenly becomes obvious: the faint room reflection from the living room, the fan in the background, the breath that lands too close, the mouth noises between sentences. What sounds "perfectly fine" for a couple of seconds becomes exhausting over a whole book — and that's exactly when the listener switches off.
