Trained film composers

Both of our composers have formal training in film scoring. We work methodically with motifs, themes, timbre and dynamics — so the music supports the story in ways your audience feels, but doesn't always notice.

Live musicians

When the project calls for it, we record with live musicians at our studio — strings, winds, percussion. We work with a network of top Norwegian players, so quality and flexibility go hand in hand.

Close collaboration

We like to be involved early in the process — not just once the edit is locked. The earlier we talk, the more naturally the music grows alongside the story.

Process

How a film project unfolds

The timeline is always adjusted to your project, but here's the typical rhythm.

01 — Steg

Spotting & brief

We watch the film (or the cut) together, identify scenes that need music, and talk through style, tempo and feel. We then send a fixed quote.

02 — Steg

Sketches & dialogue

We prepare sketches for key scenes that you can listen to. You give feedback. We fine-tune before moving on to full composition and arrangement.

03 — Steg

Recording & delivery

Live recording or in-studio production, followed by mix and mastering. You receive final files in all requested formats.

Frequently asked questions

When should I reach out in the process?
As early as possible — ideally before the edit is locked. That way the music can grow organically with the story, and you avoid locking the edit to temp music you were meant to replace.
We have a small budget. Is there anything we can do?
Yes. We adapt — fewer live musicians, more programming, shorter music cues. The important thing is that we are honest about what your budget allows and deliver quality within that frame. Nobody loves a film with bad music because we tried to do too much.
Can we use music you already have?
We primarily work on original music written for each project. But if you need something quickly and affordably, we also have a catalog of library music we can license.
Can you work remote?
Yes. Most of our communication with international clients happens over video, file transfer and comments directly on video or mix files. You don't need to be in Norway to work with us.
